Telephony and NXTcomm to Produce Service Provider Conference for Independents at NXTcomm 2008

3/24/2008

NEW YORK (March 24, 2008) - Penton Media's Telephony, the leading publication for communications service providers, and NXTcomm, today announced that they will co-produce "Telephony's INSIGHTS for Next-Generation ILECs," a one-day educational conference at NXTcomm 2008, June 16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Targeted to independent service providers, including tier 2, tier 3 and rural carriers, the conference will focus on financial, technology and business-focused strategies for today's competitive environment.

Led by Telephony's award-winning editorial team, INSIGHTS will deliver business intelligence from innovative independent service providers, industry analysts and leading technology vendors. The conference will offer keynotes, interactive panel discussions and live demonstrations on topics including carrier ethernet, video services, service personalization and wireless/access technologies. Limited seating will also be available for an executive luncheon on business valuation, a chief concern for rural telecom service providers.

"Independent telcos face challenges that are unique to their markets, in addition to the competition and line-loss issues that all telephone companies face," said Carol Wilson, editor in chief of Telephony. "INSIGHTS will address the common challenges from the Independent perspective and offer practical solutions specifically designed for this market."

"An event geared toward the needs of independent service providers is a great way to usher in NXTcomm08," said Wayne Crawford, NXTcomm executive director. "Telephony's involvement represents an expansion of the strong relationship the two organizations began last year with Telephony's role as official publisher of the NXTcomm Show Daily and program guide at the debut of NXTcomm and continues this year in that role."
