Penton Media Announces Design Engineering Group Promotions

NEW YORK (February 20, 2008) - Penton Media, Inc. today announced the appointment of Joseph Fristik as vice president/group publishing director for Penton's Design Engineering and Mechanical Systems/Construction Groups, including Machine Design, Motion Systems Design, Medical Design and Hydraulics & Pneumatics. In addition, Dennis Jensen has been named associate publisher of Machine Design and Bill Rodman has been promoted to associate publisher of Medical Design.
Fristik will continue to report to Bob MacArthur, senior vice president. Both Jensen and Rodman will report to Fristik.
Fristik had served as group publisher of Penton's Construction Group since 2003. Previously, he was group publisher of Penton's welding titles and publisher of American Machinist. Fristik joined Penton in 1981 and held a variety of promotion and senior sales management positions at the company. He received his bachelor's degree from Kent State University.
Jensen joined Penton in 2003 as a regional sales manager for Machine Design, Motion Systems Design and Medical Design. He had previously served as director of sales and marketing for Real Time Enterprises, a computer systems company, and as a regional sales manager for ECN magazine. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin.
Rodman rejoined Penton in 2007 as a regional sales manager from Canon Communications, where he held sales executive positions at MD&DI and MX magazines. His prior experience included sales work for Crain Communications, Penton and Garner Publishing, and as an independent sale rep. He received his bachelor's degree from Wittenberg University.
