Joann Kropp Joins Penton Media as Vice President, Customer Data Solutions

NEW YORK, NY (October 10, 2008) - Penton Media announced today that Joann Kropp has joined the firm in the newly created position, Vice President, Customer Data Solutions, with responsibility for generating new revenue streams in list and name-based products across the entire organization. She will be based in the company's New York City headquarters.
"As the former president of the Walter Karl Division of infoUSA, Joann is uniquely qualified to help us utilize names and data to connect our advertiser clients and business users," said Warren N. Bimblick, senior vice president, Penton Media. "Joann will be a member of the Penton Custom Media team and will be a resource to the entire company." She will report to Mr. Bimblick and be based in the New York office. She will work with the publishers and sales team to develop direct marketing solutions, analyze customers' data and develop targeted solutions to boost clients' sales.
Joann Kropp has over 25 years of experience in the direct marketing industry including executive positions at Walter Karl, culminating as president for four years. She has experience working with business and consumer data, compiled data, and database services for both online and offline applications.
"In addition, Joann will work closely with Penton's Chief Marketer Group which includes Direct, Multichannel Merchant, Chief Marketer, and PROMO, to help bring best practices and new ideas to the marketing marketplace," said Mr. Bimblick.
