American City & County’s Second Annual Local Government Summit Virtual Conference Draws 35% More Attendees than Previous Year
Atlanta, GA (October 29, 2009) - American City & County’s second Local Government Summit Virtual Conference & Expo, co-hosted by Microsoft and held on October 20, drew nearly 1,000 registrants and approximately 450 live attendees from 47 states and 13 foreign countries. The interactive event was dedicated to sharing case studies and best practices on how to improve residents’ services and delivery.
The second annual event drew 35% more live attendees and nearly 40% more registrants than the previous year. “Both we and Microsoft are happy with the increase in attendance,” says Bill Wolpin, Editorial Director and Associate Publisher of American City & County. “In a down economy, a virtual conference is the perfect way for local government professionals to reduce travel expenses without sacrificing the ability to attend a quality educational program.”
Like an on-site conference, the Local Government Summit featured an exhibit hall where attendees visited and interacted with vendors; an auditorium where they viewed 8 educational webinars, live Q&A sessions and a private chat session following each presentation; a resource center with dozens of white papers, presentations, videos and podcasts; and a communication center to network with peers, presenters and exhibitors.
“The event was an outstanding financial success, and best of all, our customers and viewers were pleased with its quality,” says Gregg Herring, Market Leader for the Public Infrastructure Group. “The American City & County team continues to pioneer a new, innovative path in serving our audience and the marketplace.”
The event will be available on-demand at www.AmericanCityandCounty.com for 12 months.
